CECILE RICHARDS: I think it was an incredibly telling moment. [] the law of the land under the Supreme Court, as you say. I think it showed a complete lack of regard for womens health, for mothers health, and it really followed on his entire career in Congress. 26 years in Congress, hes voted against womens health 125 times, including very basic issues like affordable birth control, support for family planning, and even when he was asked by a reporter, couldnt say whether or not he supported insurance coverage for birth control, even though he voted against it twice. I think this really was simply in keeping with John McCains record as being very out of touch on womens health issues.

There is a protection for womens health and life, and thats been under the Supreme Court, its been the law of the land for decades now, and thats what I think Senator McCain was questioning. But I think the real point [], the American people, this is a divisive issue, its a very personal, private issue. And what really the American people want to see is a focus on getting to the root of the problem in this country, which is we have the highest unintended pregnancy rate, and teen pregnancy rate in the Westernized industrialized world, theres so much we could do to come together to support affordable family planning, to support information for young people, to support insurance coverage for birth control. Those are the kinds of things that could reduce unintended pregnancy, and the need for abortion. John McCain has opposed every single one of them his entire career [].

Women’s Health – Depo Provera- To Prevent Bone Loss I Recommend Viactiv Chews

Women’s Health Viactiv Chews and Depro Provera: I find the amount of females who do not know they should take a calcium and D supplement or exercise when they are receiving depo provera shot very disturbing. The majority of these females have told me no one has ever mentioned calcium and D supplement and exercise while on Depo provera. Next I hear, why do I need to exercise and take calcium and D? I tell them Depo Provera causes bone loss especially at a time when the strength and thickness of their bones increases during their teens, 20, 30’s. If they have been taking the depo shot for less than 2 years the bone loss can be partially stopped with dietary or supplemental calcium and vitamin D. If they have been taking the depo shot for 2 yrs. or more , I think it would be a good idea to talk with the doctor about alternative birth control methods. If there is no other bc alternative then be sure to take a calcium with D supplement or get it through your diet. Also, start walking running or playing sports if not already doing so. If you ladies know you are not going to receive enough calcium and D in your diet then I highly recomment Viactiv chews. They are like eating a chewy peice of candy and taste pretty good. You can throw a couple of chews in your purse and eat them on the run if you are really busy. They come in different flavors like milk chocolate and carmel and eating two chews daily will provide you with 1000mg of ca and a source of vitamin D and K. Even if you are not taking the depo shot you should seriously think about taking calcium with D earlier in life to maintain bone health.
