I heard pubic hair in women protects against infections or something. Is this true? Does this mean shaving/waxing off pubic hair increases risks to health?

As a woman i have deff. had more infections after shaving than before and I’m more comfortable with more than less pubic hair cause then you get irritaion and stuble. ew.

It does help keep the area clean. That’s why we have hair in our noses..it filters dirt, dust, etc that we breathe in.

I don’t know an average of women that have gotten vaginal infections from shaving that area (who really knows it was from that)…theres a wide range of causes and possiblities.

The purposes of pubic hair (and axillary hair) are for absorption and spreading of pheromones, for temperature regulation and to inspire modesty.
