I have insurance through my employer. It's wonderful. They have a prenatal program that has a $600 Out of pocket. Meaning I pay $600.00 for all my ultrasounds, OB visits, lab work, etc- Anything pregnancy related (even ER visits if necessary). And then that also includes the delivery, no matter if its Csection or vaginal- and my stay in the hospital as well as my babies stay. All I have to do is get a phone call from a prenatal nurse once a month asking how things are going. It's wonderful- especially since I'm paying less than $50/month for this insurance.
References :
Work at Principal Financial

I am on medicaid. It pays for everything, for the hospital bill, all the doctor's appointments, even ultrasound. It also pays for dental. I don't pay anything sometimes. I think that is the best one out there.

You should go to your local food stamps and ask them how to get on.
References :
It really depends on your current situation. Most insurance companies require high deductibles, co-payments and out-of-pocket maximum.

The best insurance I had was through an employer who were self-insured and under PPO.

If you are trying to get private insurance (not through your employer), depending on which state you reside, ob-gyn and pregnancy is usually not covered. If this is the case, try using an insurance broker who can find you the best plans at the best rates that meet your needs.
References :
I have Medi-cal. It's an insurance from the state for pregnant women with low income. There's no copay or monthly payment.
